Hey hey, guess what? It's a new post!!

After vanishing off the face of the Earth for the last two weeks or so, I finally have the inclination and time to update my blog. Yay. Ok ok, so the truth is, i'm just waiting for my laundry to dry and am just killing time. So sue me if i don't have really grand intentions.

Things that have happened since the last update.

My cuz came.
My cuz left.
We had a lot of fun in between. Like going for Karaoke, Mini-golf and eating lots of good food. Well, good is a relative to Indiana and means Chinese mainly.

I went to San Fran. Saw Rushing Hill, the most windy road in San Fran. Went to see a high school girl's basketball game with Gawee. Went to Fisherman's Wharf and met up with Iris. Went to the chocolate factory with the name i can't pronounce properly. Ate the chocolates. Grew fat(ter) mostly.

Jolly good fun all in all.

Oh yeah, and i sent out my holiday cards already. I can't call them Christmas cards anymore but happy Belated Christmas and a happy Pre-New Year New Year!! Cheers!!

It's the holidays!!!! (wootZ ^2) x(2!)! <-- that's a lot of wootZ for those who are too lazy to calculate.

I slept like 10 hours since friday to sunday afternoon. It was murder trying to study for the last few papers. But it's finally over and i got an A for my organic chemistry. The bane of my intellectual existence. And i actually got an A. Hahaha. Some one must like me after all.

Anyway, i'm in my aunt's place in Cupertino,California now. The weather(at 10-15 celsius) is positively balmy compared to the feels like -14 celsius i've been getting... So i'm not complaining. Plus it's a vacation so i can relax all the way. Now i'm waiting for my cuz to come so we can have some fun.

Probably going San Fran later this week. Chill guys.

Haha. Holidays. Finally.

Exams have officially started. I had 2 today, with another one of friday (philosophy) and the last on saturday morning (comp sci)... I just finished my chemistry exam. And (as alwasy) it didn't go very well i think. But then again, i've learnt to think pessimistic about chemistry. It certain helps in being realistic. Hahaha. I'm bushed. I'm going home to have dinner and sleep.

To all those who have already finished their exams, lucky guys/gals. To those who haven't, i finish on saturday and let's suffer together till then... Haha.

"PS: blog more, esp photo update. ur webbie getting boring..."

After being prompted, I have to write this entry. I apologise to my many (i hope) faithful readers about the state of my website. Having a keyboard that flips off more often than that dreaded lunar based biological cycle, it's kinda hard to get consistent work done on your background and html with Frontpage.

And Toshiba is not helping me. I called the service centre today (US) and was told to call back to Singapore to confirm the procedure for my international warranty. This is stupid. Isn't toshiba a MNC (multi-national corporation)? Aren't MNCs supposed to be global organisations? Why then is there is disjointed communication is policy between the United States arm and the Singapore arm? For heaven's sake, it's an INTERNATIONAL warranty. You would suppose that there would be some rules and policy that transcends the international barrers... But nuuuuuuuu. It's like the eye asking the brain to ask the legs to walk around the hole in the ground. Someone is probably gonna fall down. Ok so it's not the best analogy, but bear with me. I think you get the idea yeah?

Ok that has fulfiled my rant a day quota. To more shocking news. Today was the first day that the temperature fell to double digits below 0. This morning, to get to my 730am lab, i had to walk in -9 (-14 with windchill) weather. I don't need a fridge with this kind of weather...

As so aptly put by this reader

Jianz: -14 is ridiculous lah
Jianz: will die one

I'm dying here already. Wish me luck. I have my finals next week... ztoow ztoow...

Screw. Video games aren't eligible for shipping on amazon... Guess i'll go to the store and buy it then...

Sunday, December 07, 2003

I hate missing out on good deals. And i (might) have just missed out on one. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance was going on amazon.com for around USD 25.99. For a new gamepak. An original gamepak. In the end, it was out of stock.

To put the deal in perspective, back home, such a game would have cost around SD 60 for a pirated copy and around SD 80 for the original. USD 26 is around SD 52. Even if you throw in the shipping charges, it won't exceed SD 65. Damn, slow fingers, i curse you all...

Now i'm considering to buy it from amazon.com and get a 20% discount of it's stated price of USD34.99. Let's see. 80% of 35 is around 29 dollars. Throw in the shipping and that's around 35 again... hmm... I'd better go and check if there's free shipping then. Brb.

I hate ENGR 106 practical exams. Well, technical since there's only one, it would be exam. But just in case i have to go through it again, i'm cursing in advance.

After the latest and (thankfully) final 106 exam, which was a practical, if one were to go around asking the student population who took it, you might form the opinion that either
A. MATLAB is a shit-ass program that sucks like a high powered vacuum or
B. every student is suddenly a programming idiot. or like a certain seafood inspired friend so succintly put it "dian4 nao3 bai2 chi1" (电脑白痴) <-- for those who can see.

And it's snowing here. It's been snowing really hard. Going to class this morning, i've already seen at least 1 person slip and fall... I was walking penguin style all the way to class to maximise the contact between the floor and my shoes.

Oh yeah, one last thing. I shot a pistol last weekend. Like CS... Haha. wOOTz. (haven't see that in awhile huh. Here's one more for you guys... wOOtz)

Onwards to FINALS WEEK!!!!!!

Monday, December 01, 2003

Damn. The holidays are over.... I feel like bawling.

Bah bah bahwl....

Ok back to work. Siannnnzzzzzzzzzzz.

Snow. Mention that word to most people living in tropical countries and they will envision something fluffy, cooling and pretty. If you'd mentioned that word to me before thursday night this week, i would still be inclined to believe in that vision. Now, i just think that snow is something that makes the pavements really really wet and slippery and is a walking hazard...

Considering that frozen sidewalks aren't really fun to play with much less walk on, i hate snow.

Well, it's the end of the thanksgiving holidays. I have 3 exams next week and a project due. That sucks. And i'm gonna go back to study already. Just wanted to post to tell my readers that i didn't slip and die on thursday night on the dark ice patch in front of my hall. Nooo. I didn't slip and die. Well, i didn't die at any rate...

Back to the books then.

Monday, November 24, 2003

You know what? Scrap the japanese and chinese words. As you can see from the post below, that idea didn't turn out as good as i thought it would...

So i will now stick to using those characters only for MSN. It's quite stupid. I managed to place in to japanese 201 in my university, unfortunately, 201 doesn't start until next fall. So in the meantime, my japanese is left to rot... Well done. I'm considering taking a lower level course that is available, 102. But i'm wondering if that would be a waste of my time.

In happier news, remember the 3 exams in a day tuesday last week? I know that my post had a typo and it will be corrected. But aside from that point, the results of 2 of the 3 exams are out. Maths was good. Coms was GOOD. Philosophy is pending. At this rate, i will probably get it back only in 3 weeks after the thanksgiving break.

Ahh, the thanksgiving break has started for some people already. Some lucky souls (myself included) have ended school for the week already. And they are preparing to leave for more exotic parts of the country or continent. I know people who are going toronto, florida, california, michigan. Me? My base of operations will be SW 405 Cary Quad West Stadium Ave 1016, West Lafayette , Indiana, 47906. That, incidentally is the address you would send any food, presents, cards, pictures of pretty girls to if you were so inclined. Thus for your convenience, i will retype that information again in a more palatable format.

SW 405 Cary Quad

Moving on to weather, i thought that 6 under was bad. It's currently 9 under and it's only going to get worse. The weather report was wrong, there was snow today. And 1 pair of cargo pants aren't really going to keep you warm. It's great motivation for continuous motion though...

SIgh, i'm still stuck on my CS project. It's the last project of the year and it's the toughest... damn... Well, back to work. Or at least back to trying to work.
Фﳧ λɤޤʤ顢web browser ܸɤƤ$ If you couldn't see the words before this sentence, please enable japanese scripts.

Brrr.... it's cold here. 0 degrees outside but it feels like 6 under. And later today, it will be a sunny and balmy -2 as the day's highest temperature... I feel like going to the sperm bank again. (reference to earlier , way earlier comment).

Anyway, i finally cut my hair since getting here. Cost me 12.95 or about 1.6 times the singaporean price. Now my hair takes a short time to dry only. And i can go to sleep early.

Made someone just sign my guestbook. Haha. I feel empowered.

Yeah, and if you guys haven't found out, i have updated the pics page abit. All the Makan Lah (Singaporean Food Fair) pics are up. The haloween pics will be pending...

λ 夠λ λ 晚¡ Yeah another thing, if you haven't noticed, i just got NJStar. Wootz wootz!!

And Kwong is flying soon.

Wednesday, November 19, 2003

Haha, life is semi-good again. My laptop still can't work properly but the other major happening in my life has been resolved. And i think i am a bloodied male chicken... Ok you guys are correct. I will now proceed to ice my genitals and get over it.

In other news, this has been the longest day of my scholarly life. I had a 3 papers. Count them, philosophy @ 10am, maths @ 630pm and communications @ 9pm. I ate dinner at 11pm... Suffering from gastric now.

And lastly, but not least(ly), HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZEE!!!

Time-zone difference is why i'm late. Haha.

Wednesday, November 12, 2003

Hmm... it's really windy today. And by windy, i don't mean the picturesque drive by the beach and cliffs windy. I mean the blow your umbrella inside out, upside down, potiential to form twisters kind of windy. And the weather report says that these winds can reach speeds of up to 45mph (that's about 70knh for the metrically inclined). That's crazy.

In fact, i had a test today and before that test, i was supposed to be studying. But i spent most of the time staring out the window and look at the wind blow leaves about and how people reacted when these mini-leafsters (leaf twisters) blew into them. Quite interesting. The winds were so strong that once the leaves were blown off the ground, some were lifted as high as the 11th storey.

Wow. Ok enough about winds. The Dinner and Dance was an unmitigated success. Well, ok, almost. If you discount the part when we cocked (screwed) up the exit of the Guest of Honour, it was pretty good. But again, one sad fact of Purdue was forced upon me; THERE ARE NO CHIO BU'S... Sigh....

Well, there's always hope for next year...

Saturday, November 08, 2003

It's the final countdown... te ne ne ne, te ne ne ne neeeee...

This is it. In 5 hours time, the show will be on. We've worked sooo hard on this Dinner and Dance, i hope that it goes well.
I am reminded of the time that me, shiyao and cj performed that short skit, blue nose and red nose for all the little kids in sec 4... But this time, the crowd is bigger, more mature and there will be food for them to pelt us if they don't like the show...

What we do in life, echoes in eternity...

Let's do it.

Once more into the breach dear friends.

Thursday, November 06, 2003

Haha erratism strikes again. I've been busy studying for my tests-outs occuring this week, next week and next next week and i'm rushing for Dinner and Dance. Going for reheasal now in fact. But i thought that i've neglected you guys for long enough. My apologies. I just got my Haloween pics though. So you can look forward to seeing me look stupid soon.

Look forward to that yeah.

My laptop has officially flipped. THe keyboard doesn't work at all. And the best thing is, when i sent an email to toshiba to ask about how would i go about getting the thing fixed, they sent me a list of dealers in INDIA... INDIA for god's sakes. Some people just can't read. Either that, or they see INDIAnnapolis only... What a bunch of bloody male chickens.

I'm dying without my own personnal laptop. I have to go to the comp labs every day just to do my work... ARgh. And i can't play many games either... double argh (argh argh).

Tuesday, October 28, 2003

Things are NOT going well for me at the moment. My laptop is down, I'm sick and i still have 2 tests to study for next week. Plus on top of that, i have to prep for the PSSA's annual dinner and dance. Currently, I'm still at the pc lab doing adverts. Or at least to the best of my illness-addled brain can do.

I remember a some people complaining about my spelling. I just discovered dictionary.com. It's a god send i tell you. Along with it's counterpart, thesaurus .com, my spelling as improved tremendously. =)

That's all the bitching i can muster for today. I gotta go back to work. Ai Kun Liao.

Monday, October 27, 2003

OK people, I know it's been awhile since my last update, but don't blame me. Blame the University (who shall remain annoymous to protect myself). I have had 2 exams , 2 projects due and a fund raiser in this absence. I didn't even had time to email my parents so you can't complain... There.

Now that that's settled, I can get down to bitching proper. You might have observed that the main page is not updated properly. There is a very good reason for that. Mainly, MY LAPTOP IS SCREWED UP. THAT LOUSY SHIT ASS TOSHIBA SATELLITE IS F***ING WITH ME. I so swear to God. The right cursor key is like permanently depressed. This makes any work, ANY work impossible on that. The only thing i use it for now is listening to MP3s. And even that is screwed up at times. Argh. What a time to be stuck in a small college town with NO toshiba dealer within 50 miles...

Anyways, I'm trying to get info on how to process an international warranty claim now. So hopefully my laptop will be back up and running in about 2.... months. Till then, I will have to rely on the "trusty" pcs in one of the various laboratories to do my stuff like communicate with the world and my homework... Looks like i have to pitch my tent here(the pc lab) already.

Lastly, I managed to post some pics of the fund raiser before my laptop went the way of the dodo on me. It's not very much, but go check it out. I'll go back to praying to the God(s) who look out for wretched, forlorn laptop users like me for a ray of light. I have to go for classes now.

Wednesday, October 15, 2003

Well, riding the fast canine on Earth (Greyhound) was an experience that I haven't had in a very long time. I kinda remember when i was young, there were such bus trips to Malaysia and other places. So the Greyhound was something like that. A 3 hour trip to the Windy City Chicago.

Ah... Chicago, Home of the Bulls, Cubs and (recently) Gawee Lee Jack Jin. I had about 40 hours to spend in Chicago after arriving there on Sunday afternoon. So I went to Chinatown and ate dim sum. That's the best thing about Chicago - the food. Purdue food doesn't even compare to the stuff Chicago has to offer. I had dim sum for lunch and a cornucopia of Singaporean food. Or at least close enough attempts at Singaporean food. Chicken rice, bak ku teh, char kuay teow (not so good)... I'm salivating again now... Although I didn't get my fishball noodle, dry with chilli, I was satisfied. But such food doesn't come cheap. Overall, over a 2 day span, i think i spent more on food than on my hotel.

So I went to Chicago for one main thing. To eat. What's new right? But i managed to squeeze time from pampering my palates to see Gaweeee. The University of Chicago is a pretty place, with lotsa ivies and gardens. I went in fall so there was many shades of red, yellow and brown contrasting with the green creepers on the grey buildings. It's like the school caretakers purposely grow ivy on the building. Even the modern looking buildings have ivy on them. The photos for this trip will come when i can see Gawee online again so he can pass them to me.

Walking Chinatown, University of Chicago and downtown Chicago took up the better part of my first day and only night in Chicago. I went to see the John Hanncock tower (94 floors high, at that height, a penny dropped can cause serious concussions) and went to the famous Cheesecake Factory. It's verrrryyyyyyyyy gooooodddddd. The tiramisu cheesecake is fantastic. And i'm sure that many many people will agree. Definitely try it if you have the chance.

On my second day, i woke up late so i could only visit the Shedd Aquarium. It's really interesting. I didn't know that there were eels that mimiced sea grass. There was also a pair of hongkong chicks that were hanging around the amazon exhibit. Consequently, i spent an inordinate amount of time looking at Amazon turtles, crocodiles and frogs. =)

I didn't manage to finish touring the aquarium though before i had to run about 15 blocks down the street to get to the Greyhound bus terminal. So that was all for my trip. Photos will be coming soon.

Saturday, October 11, 2003

Whee!! It's October break!! A long weekend for all the long sufferring students in Purdue!! I'm going Chicago this weekend. Meeting Gaweeee on Sunday, go down to chinatown, chill out a bit. Then I come back on Monday and piah(study) for my Comp Sci test on wednesday. Don't you just love it? Uni life?

Anyways, for those people who directly bookmark this page (and i'm sure that there are a few), the main page has been updated. Go check it out and comment in my guestbook. Go go, shoo shoo.

Next weekend, the Purdue Singapore Students Association is having a food fair to raise enough cash for our annual dinner and dance. We hope to reach 1300 dollars in ticket sales. And I'm the sales in charge. A very stressful job i tell you... I have like 2 white hairs in the span of planning for this event... But people still say I look young. =) Hehe.

Once again, go check the main page. Go go, shoo shoo.

Monday, October 06, 2003

I'm so dead. I have 2 exams in less than 48 hours and I'm online doing my blog... Don't you just love me?

To all the chemistry/chemical engineering students, I feel your pain when you study chirality and optical isomerism. I spent 2 hours reading 6 pages and 4 diagrams and i still gave up understanding that concept... Again, i'm so dead...

So i'm typing this entry before i start on my other subject, philosopy, another head-banger topic. I have like 100 pages to go through by tuesday morning 10am... I'm so dead...

On a lighter note, I'm level 13 already !!! W00tz!! And it was only 4 months ago i was a mere level 8 with a 25-17 record. Hahaha. Now i have a 72-53 record. w00tz. According to battle.net, that puts me into the top 15 percent of the frozen throne players.

R0x0r.

Friday, October 03, 2003

I just got Dreamweaver from Macromedia Studios. So I can start revamping this site. Hopefully, I can learn how to use that thing in less than a month and by christmas, you'll be seeing a new zueig.

Just discovered central heating yesterday. Haha. Thank god. Turns out that you actually have to turn the thing on, in addition to the central heating system working. Nearly got myself burnt in the process. But finally, central heating!! It's a godsend.

Anther thing i just discovered, my first white hairs... ARGH... Imagine, 2 and a half years slogging in the army and i can still maintain a vibrant shock of black hair. I come here and within the first 1 month, my hair starts whitening... Shocking man, simply shocking.

Oh yeah, a post departure shout out to Zee. Hope you arrived safely in UK. Cheers

Wednesday, October 01, 2003

Screw Wednesday night. It's ,according to weather.com, (33-32) * 5/9 approx 1 degree C now...

And i still have to study for yet another exam. Argh.

I guess I'm learning to integrate exams into my daily routine. I can't be studying for exams forever yeah.

Well back to the books.

Monday, September 29, 2003

Woah, cold night coming in man. Just the other day, someone said "Wah, you so big still afraid of cold ah?" when i said i was afraid to bathe at 3am in the morning cos of the weather. Well, on wednesday, I will be experiencing my first sub-zero night. At 29 degrees F, that's like (29-32) * 5/9 approx -1 degree C...

Brr.....

And i will try to cut down on spelling mistakes in the future...

AND I"VE FINALLY FINISHED THAT GODDAMNED STUPID IRRITATING CS PROJECT!!!! W00TZ!!! W00tZ!!!

Now, it can burn in hell...

Thursday, September 25, 2003

Phew, a breather in the midst of yet another hectic week. I just had my Computer Science exam yesterday. I would say it was easy but i dare not make such claims anymore, in the light of what happened with my last 2 tests... So, it was bloody hard man!! No way anyone could have finished it in 20 mins and have time to check it thrice before submitting it. (Hopefully, this works. If it does, i still have 1 more test next week... heh)

But other than that exam yesterday, there aren't anymore pressing stuff for this week. Although there is a project due next week along with another exam... So i can afford to relax a bit.

In FASHION news, I just bought a P cap and a P beanie (a beanie is the kinda woolly thing u wear on your head to protect ur head and ears from the cold) at 40 percent discount. I paid like 20 bucks for what was originally worth 31 dollars cos our (american) football team trashed Arizona by 40 points. So the university bookstore was giving 10% per 10 points. Score! Haha. Now, i wear the cap everyday cos i always get "pong pong" hair in the morning. NO MATTER how much i dry my hair before sleeping, i still wake up with a 2 inch 'fro... Irritating.

Well, i ought to be going for my classes now. (took the time to print my homework to type this blog, don't you just love my dedication?)

Monday, September 22, 2003

Argh, I'm not having a good time man. Not that there actually was a pREogative(corrected the spelling already.) to have a good time in college, but i think most of you get the idea.

Very sian week. My results are less than sterling and more than mudanely average, which is a bad thing. Cos this is the ang moh level (just in case some red hairs are reading this...) we're taking about and i'm(we're which ever way suits you better) much better than that. And you just know it.

Argh, Bitch Bitch Bitch Bitch Bitch Bitch Bitch Bitch Bitch Bitch Bitch Bitch Bitch Bitch Bitch Bitch Bitch Bitch .

Bitch Bitch Bitch Bitch Bitch Bitch.

Bitch Bitch Bitch.

Bitch. No, i'm not done bitchin' but i'll give it a break now. Argh.

Friday, September 19, 2003

And so the pressure resides and the bitching starts... If you don't want to hear this, just scroll to the end with the nice stars...

On to other news and opinions, I am beginning to regret taking philosopy. I think i mentioned this earlier, but now, i really have no *(&#@$*&^$@%*^$# idea what's ACTUALLY going on in class. I mean like yeah, you nod your head (if you're not nodding off, that is, at the lecturer, but when you go home and try to review the stuff you allegedly learnt, it resembles something that got hit by the SirCam worm. Scrambled data... Going in all different directions. In short, super catch no ball. And I'm not alone. If DSTA scholars can't understand this as well, well the lecture must be weird right? Either that or DSTA scholars are stupid. Haha. J/K.

Anyways, I'm going for "pparty" this Sunday. "Real japanese food, masterminded my real japanese chef(s)" Haha, tanoshimiru yo! Looking forward to it.

I gotta go, I'm late for a meeting. Till next time, faithful readers!!

Tuesday, September 16, 2003

Ok, the project's done. So 1 down. 2 more to go!

Went to the Job Fair today. Basically just paratrooped my "resume" around. Considering that it was only 1 page long with like 5 cm spacing, it wasn't much to speak of, but it's a start. Hopefully, I can do something more concrete come Intern Fair. Maybe, just maybe i can get a summer internship somewhere. Anywhere will do. Just as long as they pay me. Haha.

Wel,, back to studying!

Monday, September 15, 2003

Fair warning first. I have 2 tests and a project due within 96 hours. I won't be updating much in this time frame.

Ok, so I might want to join competitive ball room dancing now that LQ has said that it's pretty much fine. (all the ah sohs have disappeared.) Phew. Or maybe i should just go for social? Any ideas?

I hate Computer Science. I've been stuck on CS for like most of the day... Damn C programming... Shoulda gone into business management or something... More girls, less work. Sheesh.

Enough whining for now, I'm not thinking very clearly. So gdnite all.

Friday, September 12, 2003

Late for my 0730 lab... again. Damn. I gotta get a louder alarm clock that will ring again after i slap it.

Luckily, today's lab was relatively simple again. So arriving 10 mins late was not a set back. But if this carries on, i think the TA (teaching assistants) will remember my name well. For all the wrong reasons.

Anyway, i had an email scare yesterday. I changed my Hotmail password and forgot what i changed it to. I tried longing in so many times that they gave me a "your account has been temporarily disabled" message. And all i could think of was "no shit, all my contacts lost!" . Real scary. Luckily again for me, Derrick suggested trying all the possible permutations of what possibly could have been my password. And on around the 30th try, I got it right. That took me 2 hours to try as Hotmail kept disabling my account after every 2 miscues... Phew. So I can still reach ya guys!! NO PROBLEMS!! =)

There's a mooncake festival celebration later tonight. I'll probably go, they got mooncakes all the way from Chicago! Anyways, here's wishing everyone a happy (if belated, in some cases) "Zhong Qiu Jie" (Mid Autumn festival).

I'm gonna hit the sack man.

Thursday, September 11, 2003

Yet again, I am pressed into action. It's 4 am over here now. And my hair's dry. It's been a pretty tough week so far (mainly cos i failed to do a SINGLE homework over the weekend). I've been rushing deadlines for my lab homeworks. And i still have a pre-lab report to write for my Chem Lab on friday morning... I really should have done some work on Sunday instead of playing Ultimate (well as ultimate as 6 gusy running around like headless chickens) Frisbee. Saa... (jap for oh well)

Reading for a philosophy quiz on friday. It's worse than Eng(lish) Lit(erature) man... If p is q and if p is not q, then my brain will explode. Or something like that. And the prof looks like a real junkie. He has a white hair so long it reaches his neck. He also has a beard that extends way beyond that, to about the the 1st intra-costal space (that's the space between your 1st and 2nd rib bones for the anatomically dis-inclined). In fact, if you met him in a dark alley on a winter night in new york, you'd think he was a homeless hobo. The kind that go around proclaiming the end of the world. But he's pretty fun so it's ok.

I just had dinner with Yumiko today. It was kinda unexpected as we were supposed to meet on friday night for dinner. But who's complaining? (notmeanyways) Oh yeah, I'm going to watch David Copperfield in Purdue. It's next Mar and I would offer to buy tickets for you guys, but i think that it's kinda far for most of you. If any of you want to see, the details are Thursday, March 25, 2004 @ Purdue University 7:30 p.m. Tickets are going for 20 and 26 USD. Consider this a trip to visit me if you will with an extra show attached or the other way around.

Well I hope that I can update before Sunday but for the love of god *Please dun kill me* <--squeaks JJ.

Interestingly, I had a very strong desire to write about something this morning but I forgot what I was supposed to write about already. I blame a 3 hour class schedule spanned over lunch time for that. Oh wait, now I remember. Horrors, I hate Mondays. My classes on Monday span a 3 hour period starting from 1130. This means that there's NO LUNCH TIME for me!!!! Damnit. Today, I had to resort to eating a salad for lunch at around 3pm. AND i had to walk like 15 minutes from my hall to do so. *grumble grumble*

I hate mondays... And it doesn't get much better on Wednesdays as well. The only consolation I get is that my classes start at 1130 on Wed, so I have time for breakfast before that. On Mondays, I have classes from 0930... So like midway through my 130 lecture, I can start hearing my stomach rumble. How embarressing...

Onna no hito ni tsuite (in regards to girls), I just made another accquaintance today. She's a Hong Konger. Seems like a nice girl. But if language were like cash, my Cantonese would be worth around 7 rupiah... (which is greater than my hokkien which would be around 5 rupiah)...

And I have a dinner date. w00tz. On friday.

Quick note to everybody, I was trying to receive a file from Derrick (the handsome VP of the PSSA, btw) when i realised something. File transfers are waaaaay quicker via MSN than IC. The transfer rate via ICQ was like 60kb/s (and bear in mind this is a intra-dorm transfer on a LAN connection). WTH?? 60kb/s?? A ninja turtle could finish of the whole FOOT organisation (ah.. nostalgia) before my file transfer finished. BUT, when I tried the transfer the same file via MSN, the transfer rate jumped ten times to 680kb/s. TEN times. woah. So now, I can watch LOTR:TT by tonight. By continuation of that thought, I can get busted a happy college student. =)

So morale of the story boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen, use MSN messenger for file transfers but shove it to William H Gates every other time.

It's the weekend!!!! WootZ!!!!! After working till 130 am for my Chem Lab this morning and waking up late for the said 0730 am lab, it's finally the weekend!!! Yeah. I went to the ballroom dancing callout yesterday. It's was huge. At least 250 people turned up. That's like more than 8 times the P(urdue) S(ingapore) S(tudents) A(ssociation) 's turnout. Well, at least they were giving out free ballromm dance lessons, instead of some lousy psuedo-cough syrup drink... ( If you ever read this, and you know who you are, please change next year's refreshments)

Ballroom dancing is fun, but I'm not too sure I wanna join it this sem cos it's pretty time consuming and I already plan to join a couple of other organisations. Still, it's something that's worth considering as the (G:G) ratio at the callout was at least pretty normal ,i.e 1:1. That's more that what can be said for some other organisations... (but we're working to change that).

More menopasual female comparisions: the weather now is flushing hot and cold man. At 0730 am, it feels as if i donated sperm, they could just leave the vials oustide on the pavement, instead of some freezer. But when the sun shines at around 930, things start warming up. And around noon or 1pm, it's hot again. Hot and cold flushes. Hot and cold flushes. Legendary signs.

Lastly, I think philosophy is weird. I can't quite catch what the tell the prof is trying to convey. It feels like literature but there's no real solid text to study. It's like trying to bath in a track suit. U feel wet, but aren't getting clean. Weird.

Well, I'm going out for dinner. Cya.

Remeber what i said about it being hot in Purdue? Well, it turns out that the weather is like a menopausal female:(yeap, you guessed it) unpredictable. After my Mich City trip (which, incidentally is NOT in Michigan state but Indiana instead), on our way back from there, it started raining. And it just kept raining till yesterday night. That is a grand total of around 54 hours of non-stop (in one form or another) precipitation... Talk about a soggy weekend. And it was a long weekend as well... <--whine.

Well, so i went down to Lighthouse Premium Outlets, Michigan City. It's a factory outlet so the things were kinda cheaper than say Walmart. Well, kinda anyway. I bought a Timberland hooded sweat shirt and 2 reebok running shorts. After that, the whole bunch of us went back to around Purdue for chinese food. Along the way back, we (as in my car and all it's occupants) got lost and so instead of taking 2 hours to get back, we ended up at the erm, restaruant (i guess u can call it a restaruant) around 730pm when we left Mich City at 420pm. Talk about major hor-lan(d)ing (army speak for getting lost).

So that was pretty much it for Sunday. Considering that it was pouring like hell when we got back from dinner, I just spent the rest of the night cleaning up my room. (We forgot to close the windows completely before leaving...) On monday, it was still raining so i just pretty much stoned at home and did a bit of homework( something that i haven't had to do in a long long time), watched a bit of anime and played a bit of games. (if you want to reproportion my daily activity log, it's up to your imagination). Oh yes, I went out to Mcdonalds with Yumiko. I had a great time. And so Monday passed without much fuss.

I should end here. I'm going for a Society for Business Engineers callout later. They give free pizza. I eaten only 3 ferro rocher for the whole day so I'm quite hungry already. Tomorrow there's an American Asian Association callout. That's a MUST go. There's also ballroom dancing. Another should go.

Ciao

Sunday, August 31, 2003

I'm going to Michigan City later today. In about 10 hours time. So what am I doing up awake instead of sleeping for the upcoming road trip? For one thing, i just bathed and my hair's still wet (can't sleep when your hair's wet can you?) for another is i haven't been doing this for a while so i feel obliged to tell the world more about my life.

So, I went to sign up for the Purdue Singapore Students Association today. It costs me 10 dollars and gave me a chance to indulge in my favourite army past time, sai kang (or doing menial tasks for those hokkien impaired). Just kidding guys, please don't kill me. Seriously speaking, they seem to be a great bunch of people and it'll be a pleasure working with and for them.

Also, I got my first warning letter from the University network saying that I've using too much bandwidth. That's the thing about university connections - there's always a temptation to download more when you see your transfer rate a sweet 150kps. It seems like i've downloaded a bit too much recently. I'll have to scale back my usage of Kazaa Lite (an awesome program, Kazaa sucks, Lite it.)

Latest slang of the year: up. As in "that's so up man! i didn't know you could juggle flaming axes with your toes" or " look at him go, not 3 hours in school and he already has 7 phone numbers, how up is that?!" In that sense, I hope that this blog is up enough for you guys.

Yet another topic : first diss of the year. Which, considering that it came like 4 weeks after the first post, is not bad in my eyes.

anonymous: eh bozo...

Yeap, you've got to take the good with the bad. Take it like a man, yeah.

Well, this should sate (look a usage of the word sate!! you know who you are) the desires of my rabid fans. Hope they don't kill me for the lack of posts.

Mata kondo (till next time)

Thursday, August 28, 2003

Hmm... Ok, I know I have been slacking around and not updating much. So bite me, it's called indulging in University life.

Anyway, it was a rather quiet birthday for me. The 25th of August came and went with barely a greeting from my friends... What a bummer. At least I did get some birthday wishes but only after incessant prodding and hinting. (you know who you guys are.) BUT special props has to go to the guys over here. Especially LQ and Derrick for organising something for me. It was small and simple but it was the thought that counted. THANKS GUYS.

What I got this year? Well, a US 9000.00 down payment for my education from my parents, a 45+10 deuter bag from the fubars and a Team Shohoku Tee from LQ. Not bad for someone whose birthday seems destined to fall on the first day of school. I'm not complaining, I'll take what i can get.

I finally got my class schedule settled. So now I'm taking an 18 credit hour course week (for those who want to know). Mondays and Wednesdays are tough cos I have lessons from 1130am to 220pm. This means I have NO TIME for lunch. Which (naturally) sucks. Big time. On the bright side though, I don't have many 730am classes. In fact, the only 730 class I have is Chem Lab on Fridays. I think the faculty wants to get rid of some of the Chemistry students. How else do you explain letting people who just woke up handle highly toxic and explosive elements at 0730 am??? I just hope i don't blow my nose off or something.

What else is there to say? I'm sure there is plenty more to add but I'm tired now. So it's off to bed. Again.

Oh yes, I just remembered I was offered a chance to test out of MA(th) 162 course again. (Long story about the again) Hopefully, I'll pass and can get to do 200 level courses. w00tz.

Edit: Oh yeah, how could i forget, i went out on my first lunch with a girl today. w00tz! Awesome. Although it wasn't much ( we just sat around and chatted over curry with rice for me and a sandwich for her) i enjoyed myself. And it was a lunch with a girl. You can't get too much of those in University can you?

Sunday, August 24, 2003

Okie, new photos are up people. Go check them out.

They're photos of my send off in Singapore and some shots of us in NC.

Sunday was a slow day cos although there are many things yet to be done, all the bloody offices are closed... So I'll just have to wait till Monday to go and arrange my class schedule again. It's pretty screwed up due to the addition and deletion of my classes yesterday. So as of now, i only need to attend 2 courses, basic engineering and maths. w00tz (not).

Tomorrow is the first day of school again. After a looonnnggg break. I don't know what it'll be like but I guess i'll be pretty busy to start with. Luckily, (or not) due to the messed up scheduling, I have some time to attend to the pressing matters tomorrow. So hopefully I'll settle all admin stuff by lunch time.

Well that's about it for now. Early to bed, I have to wake up early tomorrow.

Oyasumi!

First thing to get acclimatised in this new environment. Play Warcraft. Haha. That's right.I'm currently installing Warcraft in the Com Lab as I write this blog. And the Com Lab is open 24/7. Shiok. Lan parties galore.w00tz. I went to change my classes today. Just realised from my seniors that the bloody chicken of an advisor tried to trick me into re-taking A level chem. So i went back to register for higher level chemistry and to drop my english as well (750 verbal baby). Instead, I'm taking Philosophy (intro to,) as a general elective. I wanted to try for Japanese but the classes were full and of all the remaining classes( Marriage and family development, Russian 101, French 101, Philosophy and Religion, Creative ARts 101) intro to phil was the most enticing. So if I start spouting more eloquent and theoratical rubbish than normal, thank/blame philo classes.

On another note, I've met a couple of foriegners already. Providence or not, most of them are ... guess... Japanese. Haha. Well ok, so i've met like 4 new people. 1 Malaysian girl, 2 Jap girls and a Jap guy. That's 75%. Not bad yeah. I'm gotten replies on most of my emails as well. w00tz.

Went shopping for stuff for my room last night. Literally. Me and LQ hit Walmart at around 11pm and left the place only at 1+ am. You could hold football events in that place and still have room for a basketball match. I got lost trying to search for gatorade... We bought a couple of stuff to spruce up our dorm. A fan, laundry bags, trash bags, bedsheets, pillows with cases, etc. It was murder trying to carry all that stuff up to the forth floor without a lift.

Which reminds me, i just found out that there IS a lift in my dorm. Only thing is, it operates during the afternoons and late mornings only. So we were screwed anyway after Walmart, but it's just a mental note.

Lastly, a note to self, Hamsted has said that he would try to mail my present over. So try not to be 2 mad.

Wel, the installation's almost done. Back to gaming. CHeers.

Edit: The comp screwed me after the installation and I had to re-install the whole bloody thing. Luckily, the lab was open 24/7. haha.

Thursday, August 21, 2003

I'm back at Purdue University and the first thing that strikes you is that it's still bloody hot. It was like 88 degrees Fahrenheit here today. Which translates to roughly 33 degrees Celsius. The strange thing is every one is still wearing jeans and t-shirts... Damn. Oh well, maybe people will realise that it's not necessary to wear so much clothing tomorrow. Hehez.

The registering for classes is really hectic. Probably cos I waited till the last minute to do this stuff but i was rushing around campus the whole day. And the academic advisors are not very in-tuned with the GCE A levels and what they entail. So a caveat for anyone who's trying to go there. Be prepared to argue and whine. A lot. I still have to take a couple of test-outs tomorrow but looking at the testing syllabus I think I'm gonna fail. Polar Co-ords anyone? Or Power Series? Mother.

There is chinese food around my hall though. And it's a buffet spread. Woah. Went there for lunch and i was exploding (again... yeah yeah) when i came out. Well, at least i won't go hungry here.

I just opened a checking account here and received my very first cheque book. Woah. I'm scared to write a cheque. But it's pretty cool eh? Haha.

Anyway, on to the best part of the day. No. of phone no/email addresses gotten: 1. Yes i know it's not much, but it's a start. Better than just chatting huh. Haha. And she's a chem engineer as well, from HC. w00tz. Haha. I can sleep happy tonight. =)

Tuesday, August 19, 2003

It's 11pm here right now and i'm`pretty bushed. But i'm stilling writing this entry as i have a responsiblity to my readers. =)

I've had a few request/suggestions for me to touch up the main site but i guess that will take awhile. I haven't really started learning HTML or Dreamweaver yet. But hopefully, it'll be done by the end of the year. Hopefully. Anyway, the blonde bikini babe is a myth. I've spent some time at the beach here and she's harder to find than a fat free roti prate... All i see are whales. Beached whales. Ugh. Ok so maybe i'm no adonis myself but at least i don't look like i'm hiding an elephant in my underwear...

Went parasailing here. It was awesome. I was at least 10 stories in the sky and i could see very very far out. Ok i know "very very far" isn't very quantative but i'm not too sure about the exact specifics ok.

On another note, there are many many bugs here. And by many many, i mean one bug for every finger on every person in the house and one spider for every three bugs. Many many bugs are not very good for your health. Went cycling today and there was a spider on the bloody handle. And it was feasting on a bug. Damn.

The cost of living here is not cheap. It's like Singapore prices but in US dollars. So that's some consideration for people who want travel here. But the food portions are enormous. I can finish one burger meal and feel contented and that's saying something yeah. LQ couldn't even finish his.
as
Ok with that said, I'm hitting the sheets. Till next time. Ciao. Oyasumi (good night).

Edit: I was wrong about the bug count. It's like ten bugs for every finger on every person in the house and 1 spider for every other bug... It's disgusting.

Monday, August 18, 2003

Hehez, I'm still alive people.

I'm typing this with the graces of a friend in North Carolina. Me and Lq had quite and adventure coming here. We stayed overnight at Indianapolis Airport to catch the 5 am flight only to be told that the flight has been cancelled due to a "lack of crew"... First taste of America man...

So instead of hitting North Carolina around 2 pm, we left Indiana around 10am, went to Washington around 1230( where our flight was delayed for ANOTHER HOUR) and finally we hit North Carolina at around 6pm... Wootz. Fun trip.

On to my room. It's pathetic. It's very small, it's stuffy and it's too crowded. 5 shower heads for 21 rooms. Bloody hell. I want to get a single room apartment ASAP. It's not been a very smooth ride. I'm having a sore throat now so i can't eat much food. Damn damn damn. I'll post pics on the pathetic state of living when i get the chance.

On a slightly better note, I've chatted to a Taiwan "mei" and a Jap girl already. Haha. There's hope for me yeah. w00tz!

Friday, August 15, 2003

I'm flying in about 8 hours time so this will be my last post for awhile. I beg my elucidated readers' forgiveness and understanding. I will try to get this back up and running ASAP but you know how it goes: plan to write a blog, end up roaring drunk. (zu31g g3ms)

Anyway, I love my gang. I heard how much they were willing to spend on me, and i say THANK YOU guys. Sai Ko!!. You guys are the best. How generous were they? I just bought an orange deuter bag (45 + 10) with the money they were willing to spurlge on me and it was only around half the figure they proposed. Don't worry though, the orange bag is being put into good use. It's almost exploding...

In other news(if you are interested...), Yun and Hamsted STILL HAVEN'T given me my present. I guess i'll have to claim from them when i come back. Memo to self, Yun owes me (in addition to the present) $10 or a treat whichever is more expensive.

Oh yes, I've ended correspondence with a certain individual in my life. It was kinda curt but at least i've tied up all lose ends before i fly. (this is for the gossip mongers out there. You know who you are.)

Well that's it then. Take care, guys!

Thursday, August 14, 2003

Went Mambo last night. So no 1am posts this time.

My last Mambo for sometime, last night was pretty fun. But i swear, Long Island Tea is like drinking striaght alcohol. Just open ur mouth and quaff the vodka. No need to mix. At least, that's what it feels like. Now I know how Zhenz can go bananas on this. I can't say more about the drinking from fear of prosecution from higher individuals in the family hierachy so let's leave it as : the drinks were good. But i didn't drink much. No no no, not much at all.

Ok, on to the more interesting part of clubbing, besides the drinks. Yes, the girls.

Sadly, there's not much to talk about under this catergory as well. On the last chionging night in Singapore before I fly, I was 0 for 4. Damn. That's the loser's number of the day. 0. But hey, it's not all about girls right? <--L0s3r Sp34k. Nevermind, I hope it get's better after I fly.

That's enough moping for 1 entry.

Monday, August 11, 2003

Went out for lunch with Jen today. Ate Sakae Sushi at HMV. Ate till I skipped dinner. (Woah! Yeah yeah, I know what you're thinking...) There are new items on the conveyor belt now. The selection is much broader now at Sakae Sushi buffet. In fact, I'm getting hungry at the thought of all the food again. Haha. I think it's a very good deal for cheap sushi. It's not very high class or top quality, but when you want to pig out, it's kinda hard to beat. We just (ok, it was more like I just) grabbed plate after plate of food (agedashi tofu, tacopacchi balls, spider maki, blah blah) from 3pm to 430pm. After that, it was like "ugh... I'm gonna explode but i'll die happy at least..."

Jen was kind enough to get me a cushion for my farewell gift. THANKS again Jen. It's a dark blue plush with an amusing tagline. "No money, no handphone, no lover, no life." I hope that won't turn out to describe me... Demo, shashin o totta koto ga wasureta yo!! I forgot to take photos with Jen. Argh. I'm a bloody male chicken. Sorry about that.

After lunch, I made my way down to do my International Student's card but being the bloody male chicken I am, i forgot to bring photos and proof of studying. So instead, I went to do my International Drivers Permit. Now i can drive in the states. So Snaggy if you're reading this, be thankful... And update me on the plans.

It was kinda ordinary today, but i had to give props to Jen. w0rd.

Sunday, August 10, 2003

Latest update. Matt dropped a 51 point word on me today. Testily. Stupid 7 letter bonuses... But the best part is, I ended up winning the game 214-206. Haha. An entry for world's greatest comebacks if there ever was one. It was a close game, I'll admit with a nail biting finish. In the end though, the only thing that matters is, I r0x0r!!

w00tz!

And on another note, it appears as if my fanbase is growing.

Aquinox: yup...
haha it's really quite funny, what u write..

Aquinox: most of the rest were good though...
very entertaining..

w00tz! w00tz!
I met up with my (ex) camp mates today. Went out for lunch at Mos Burger. It was quite enjoyable, until a middle aged whiskery man, chewing on a straw(¿) and was waiting for a table beside us exclaimed loudly to his son "WE WAIT FOR THEM TO LEAVE". "Them" was in reference to our table. And we were just about done too. However, upon this act of blatant unsubtleness, one of us decided to go and order more food and let him wait. Well done ZM.

After that incident, we were pondering what to do after lunch and decided to play pool. But it was really expensive so we decided to play Warcraft instead. I rule at Azure Tower Defense. Haha, it's a game where the players have to withstand hordes of invaders trying to reach a goal point. We, the players, have to kick their asses back to the nether regions from which they spawned from before they can reach the goal. The 5 of us reached level 30 out of 40 and got slaughtered by dark blobs of goo that split whenever they died... I hate goo...

Slaughtered, we decided to call it quits and return home. Upon reaching home, I had to prepare to drive to East Coast for dinner with my relatives. Seafood dinner at Jumbo restaraunt was an excellent affair. The food was good, the wind was nice and my relatives had a chance to see me before I started sending postcards from the States. As usual, I overate. But it was worth it. The chilli crab was delicious. Oishikatta yo!

That's about it for today. The pics for the above mentioned events are up in the Sh0t5 section. Go check 'em out.

Should i crash NUS lectures tomorrow? hmm... Girls... Yeah, i think i'll do it before i fly. =)

Saturday, August 09, 2003

Yeah, so I met up with (wen)Yun before I fly. At the Garlic Restaraunt near Embassy. The food's good, and the prices are reasonable. We also met Zee, Fiona and his parents at the Garlic Restaraunt as well. They arrived after watching the parade. Very patriotic colours. But the highlight of the whole thing was me getting an egg. A "lu3 dan4" . So next time when you send your friend off, a new precedent has been set. Just give him an egg. w00tz. And Yun, if you're reading this, there's nowhere in the passage that i call you a "bloody cheapskate ass." Nowhere at all. Okie, to be fair, there's an alleged present for me floating around out there somewhere. Yun told me that he and Hamster (yong quan) bought me something. But until i see the goddamn item(s), i'll just keep insinuating that Yun's a "XXX" (see above, bolded phrase). So sue me.

Oh yeah, it's National Day today, so "Happy National Day" to all my readers, yes all 2 of you. Hope you guys had fun.

Friday, August 08, 2003

Before I sleep, I need to post this.

elohssa: ur blog huh,,
elohssa: is damn funny

Haha, another fan. w00tz!
Hmm...
I've been lazy these past few days and haven't been updating daily. But that's because i stumbled onto xanga.com It's a fantastic site, very professional looking and all but i've tried it out and i think it's way too complex for my needs. All i need is a simple place where i can jot down my thoughts and fancies. Not some high tech page that can help you learn nuclear physics will setting up your Wi-Fi access and sing Pavarotti at the same time. Seriously though, the only standout is that xanga allows comments on the posts. This website is sorely lacking in this.

Anyway, i decided to stick with blogger.com for awhile more and see how it goes.

Ok, on another note, went for Matt's birthday bash today. Not many people, but it was still pretty enjoyable. The food was nice, especially the chicken. Mmmm. Chicken... we also played Pictionary. Haha, story of the day. Me, Cj , Zee , Gawee and some 65 guy whose name i can't really recall won like the last 5 draws to overtake Matt's team which was on the last spot already. Haha, the final draw was trampoline. And only Zee could guess from my god-awful drawing. w0rd!! Good job guys.

Oh yeah, if you ever get the chance, go play with Gawee's abs. They feel like ridges. Haha.

P.S I'll post the pics of that if and when Matt/Zee send me them. In the meantime, don't hate the messenger. Hate them instead...

Edit: Matt has sent me the pics of his birthday so you can stop hating both of them. Instead, you should direct your energies to the Sh0t5 section and give them a look.

Wednesday, August 06, 2003

Hot damn. A disclaimer before i proceed with today's entry, if you don't like to hear twenty year olds talking about sixteen to eightenn year olds, go do something else now.

Ok, fair warning. So me and cj were going out shopping for matt's present. It's a pair of Van's board shorts btw, if you are interested. (I'm so confident this information won't be reaching matthew before his birthday) Anyway, we saw a pair of AJ girls. And one of them was really cute. As in "if she weren't really under-aged for me, potential stalkee" kinda cute. Too bad she was too young though. We caught her giving us looks so maybe I should have gone up and said something. Either that, or she was staring at me discussing edible undies with matt over the phone. (He didn't want to give us his waistline and I had to threaten him that we would have to get him edible undies otherwise) Let's hope that it's the former yeah.

Anyway, Unreal Tournament 2003 (hence forth known as UT 2K3), rocks. Too bad i can't play online in public servers though. But I lurve the rocket launcher. UT2k3's MuthaF***ing ultr4 l33tz ArseFrager. Nothing brightens your day more than watching somebody tuck into a hearty meal of explosives and then letting it all out in a spectacular display of 3D Nvidia Gforce powered graphics. Haha. But it's kinda hard to play it on a laptop with a mouse that looks like it belongs to a before and after ad for viagra. (it would be the before picture...) Nevermind, i will blame my losses on the mouse.

Oh yeah, got my first accolade today:

anemone: ur blog's funny~

w00tz!

w00tz! First Post on my NEW laptop. Hehez. NO more sharing the PC with my bro!! Well, at least I can play my own games while he fiddles with the pc. Anyway, went for what probably will be my last physio therapy session. Hope that what ever i've learnt till now will be sufficient for me to rehabilitate my knee in the states. But i realised that SGH physio therapy staff can't spell. Was reading an article about shoulder pain and it "vicious cycle" was spelt as "vicous cycle". If there's anybody from SGH reading this, cheers. =) I corrected that.

The streets are crawling with NUS students today. They were everywhere. SGH, Outram MRT, Boon Keng MRT... I met Zee's ex Rayshel at Outram MRT. She tried to squeeze $$ out of me but i only had notes. And there was no way i would donate 2 dollars to any flag day. So it's not discrimination. It's just stoogy-ness.

Now, I'm sitting in LQ's room and enjoying his network access. Since it's by his good graces that i'm having internet right now, no bad mouthing for tonight. Peace.

Monday, August 04, 2003

Haha, went gym today without anybody. Personal Motivation!! There is still hope for me then. If i can do it here, maybe Freshman Forteen won't come knocking on my door. (or maybe if it does, it'll be looking for LQ) Just for those not in the know, Freshman Forteen is a "disease" where freshies put on around forteen pounds in the year. It's a very well documented illness.

Dropped by NUS for a visit to the guys' dorms after dinner. The rooms are god-awful small but i don't think mine will be much better. I'll give comparison once i get there. But they seem to settling just fine. Aside from the ridiculous regimentalised orientation they're having, they're taking to dorm life like fishes to water. Well done dudes. It sucks to be Ken on flag day though. All the BEST! And Zu31G Sp34k5 will record your bravery and determination.

He's trying to get donations for NUS flag day along Little India... fubared. Definitely fubared.

Matt's a (*&#$%^!%#&!@# and doubly so cause like we were playing Literati @ yahoo.com (scramble online) and he dropped a seven letter (i.e clearing all his cards) on me not once, but twice. In a span of 3 games... Bloody hell. But i still won 2 of them and the third was abandoned. Just goes to show luck will get you only that far eh? Hehez.

Sunday, August 03, 2003

Went out for dinner with some of my Japanese class friends. Had ramen at Far East Square. Not bad. It was affordable and the food tasted good. Oishikattane. Oniyama Jigouku (literally Devil Mountin Hell) ramen o tabeta.

The thing about going out with your language teachers is that there are no sub-titles. Looking at them converse is like watching a french dvd with the sub-titles turned off. Just actions and rough emotions. Still, I did Okay, considering my month plus (and counting) lay off from the language. I still understand short sentences. Haha. Michigai sentences wa mada wasurechatta yo!! w00t!

Anyway, those photos should be making their way to this site sometime soon. But since a blog is easier to update than actual data, the blog is done first. Haha.

Shashin wa ato de. Sumimasen.

P.S Moshi konno blog o yondattara, guestbook o sign shite kudasai! Domo.

So I was gonna sleep but then i stumbled across this joke.

What do you call a lesbian dinosaur? Lickalotopuss

Funny? Maybe. But the second one had to be posted here.

What do you call a gay dinosaur? Megasorass
Ever tried playing Spider Solitare? The game that comes with Windows XP? Ever tried getting back from 30 losses down to get a 161-161 win loss ratio?

Yup, celebration time. W00t! ^2 (to be read w00t!w00t!)

Anyway, just had a family gathering to send me off. It's surprising how fast people change their minds when told that to send someone off at the airport, they would have to wake up at around 4 plus am. Hey, I would too. So I don't begrudge them. Lotsa food. And it was more overkill than my own farewell party last Sat. At least we finished around 80 % of the food. This time around, let's just say that breakfast is gonna be good. Hehez.

After dinner, went out for ice-cream with Qing, who happened to be around the neighbourhood with her former SDU manager. (remember her guys? the one at coffee bean?) I think they have a new worker at 6th Ave, or I haven't seen her before. But then again, I don't frequent that place as often since the pretty girl stopped working there.

Ice-cream... Mmmm...

Okie, just came back from the NUS matriculcation fair with Kenneth and I must say this. Law is definitely prettier than Engineering. Damn it.

DAmn it dAmn it. Hopefully it will be better in Purdue, but going by the Law of Averages, I'm pretty much screwed in that aspect i think.

Anyways, the crowd at the laptop purchasing counter was unbelieveable. Unbelieveable until you stand in the queue from 1115 to 1245 just to reach the REGISTRATION counter... Still, it wasn't too bad (aside from the fact that my legs felt like dropping off). There were law girls around. Hehz. And the HP sales girls were kinda cute. But I don't have much luck with sales girls...

So now I'm back home and waiting to go play tennis. I'll go immerse myself in Frozen Throne again. Trying to get 25 Human wins to get a Dwarven Icon.

Once more onto thy breach!
